The Role of the Social Worker at the German Medical Institute
At the German Medical Institute (GMI), we place strong emphasis on a personalised approach to patient care. In line with this commitment, GMI is proud to be the only hospital in Cyprus that employs a full-time social worker as an integral part of its clinical team.
The role of the social worker is multifaceted, focusing on providing supportive and advisory services to patients, their families, and their broader social environment. These services aim to enhance the overall quality of life of those affected by illness, which in turn contributes positively to their physical and emotional well-being.
By addressing the social and psychological dimensions of care, our social worker helps patients navigate complex life circumstances, facilitates access to essential resources, and promotes a more holistic healing process.
