The Department of Pulmonology at the German Medical Institute offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, covering the full spectrum of respiratory and pulmonary conditions. Our goal is to provide evidence-based, personalised care to every patient.

Our services include:

• Daily Outpatient Clinic
  Evaluation, diagnosis, and management of respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, and infections.

• Smoking Cessation Clinic
  Personalised support and guidance for individuals wishing to quit smoking, combining behavioural strategies and pharmacological interventions.

• Interventional Pulmonology
  A dedicated department performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures, including:
  Flexible Video-Bronchoscopy
  Direct visual assessment of the central airways with the ability to obtain biopsies, brushing samples, washings, and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL).
  Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) Bronchoscopy
  Minimally invasive evaluation and biopsy of mediastinal lymph nodes for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer, lymphoma, and sarcoidosis.
  Therapeutic Bronchoscopy
  Endoscopic hemostasis and tumor debulking using electrocautery and argon plasma coagulation (APC)
  Foreign body removal from the airway
  Balloon dilatation of tracheal and central airway strictures
  Endobronchial brachytherapy, in collaboration with the Radiation Oncology Department, for localised treatment of airway tumors

• Inpatient Pulmonology Care
  Comprehensive evaluation and management of hospitalised patients with respiratory conditions.

• Pulmonary Function Laboratory
  Full range of pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, with interpretation and clinical integration.

• Pleural Procedures
  Diagnostic and therapeutic paracentesis for pleural effusions, performed under imaging guidance when required.
