Charalambos Charalambous

General Surgeon

“Complex surgery requires more than technical skill; it requires judgment, preparation, and a relentless commitment to the patient.”

Dr. Charalambos Charalambous is a General Surgeon with specialized expertise in Surgical Oncology and in the surgical management of gastrointestinal malignancies.

His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex abdominal conditions, as well as the management of oncologic diseases of the stomach, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary tract. In parallel, he provides comprehensive care for a wide spectrum of benign surgical conditions, including hernia repair (inguinal, ventral, and incisional), gallbladder disease (laparoscopic cholecystectomy), and other common general surgical diseases.

His approach is grounded in the principles of evidence-based medicine, personalized patient care, and close collaboration within multidisciplinary medical teams, aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes in both complex oncologic and routine surgical cases.

He completed his General Surgery training at Nicosia General Hospital, one of Cyprus’ major tertiary referral centers, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently obtained a ChM (Master of Surgery) with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh and further advanced his surgical training through a short clinical fellowship in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Dr. Charalambous has extensive experience in advanced oncologic and complex abdominal surgery, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and individualized cancer care.

His clinical interests include colorectal cancer surgery, liver and pancreatic surgery, retroperitoneal sarcomas, as well as benign general surgical conditions such as abdominal wall hernias, gallbladder disease, and minimally invasive procedures, with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, surgical precision, and optimal patient outcomes.
