Christoforos Christofi​

Neurologist

Dr. Christoforos Christofi is a Neurologist with specialization training in Germany, where he obtained the German Board Certification in Neurology. He has extensive education and many years of clinical experience across the full spectrum of modern Neurology. He graduated from the Medical School of Szeged in Hungary and continued his professional and academic training in recognized hospitals in Germany, where he was trained in all subspecialties of Neurology according to European educational standards.


His clinical practice includes comprehensive evaluation and therapeutic management of neurological disorders, covering both common and rare or highly specialized conditions. In particular, he has experience in cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke and other neurovascular disorders, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, demyelinating diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, peripheral neuropathies and myopathies, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonian syndromes, degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as autoimmune and infectious diseases of the Central Nervous System. His main fields of interest include neurovascular medicine and neurodegenerative diseases, with an emphasis on diagnosis, prevention, and personalized therapeutic approaches.


Dr. Christofi is also specialized in performing and interpreting neurophysiological studies, such as electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCV), electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials (VEP, SSEP, AEP), and ultrasound examination of cerebral and carotid vessels (Carotid Triplex and Transcranial Doppler). He also has experience in video-EEG monitoring for seizure diagnosis and classification, as well as in neurocritical care. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the management of acute strokes, after many years of work in specialized and certified stroke units.


He remains an active member of scientific organizations such as the European Academy of Neurology, the German Neurological and Stroke Society and the Cyprus Neurological Society. He is fluent in Greek, English, and German, with full proficiency in medical terminology. He continues his scientific education through participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, ensuring that he stays updated and specialized in the latest advances in Neurology.

08/2017 – 08/2021: ASKLEPIOS Clinic in Luebben, Brandenburg, Germany(Neurology, Neurointensive Care with Weaning Station specialized for gradual withdrawal of patients from mechanical respiratory support, certified Stroke Unit, Department of Early Rehabilitation)

·        Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for patients in the specialized neurointensive unit.

  • On-call duties responsible for both the Stroke Unit and the mechanical ventilation unit.

  • Responsibility for patients in the early rehabilitation department (Frührehabilitation – Phase B).

  • Learning indications and interpreting findings in all neurophysiological and ultrasound examinations.

  • Participation in diagnostic MRI procedures (brain and spinal cord).
