Dr Nikolaos Kroustalakis is a board-certified Nephrologist with special interest in Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Kidney Disease, Glomerular Diseases, Nephrolithiasis, Renal Replacement Therapies, Hypertension and Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Dr Kroustalakis was born and raised in Heraklion.

He is a Medical School graduate of the Second University of Naples, Italy. After successful participation in state exams of the Second University of Naples, he was granted license in practicing Medicine and Surgery.

After completing his studies, he started his residency in Internal Medicine, initially, at the Naval Hospital of Crete and continued at the General Hospital of Ierapetra. He served as a general practitioner during his compulsory rural service in the Leukogia community clinic, Drama Macedonia. Dr Kroustalakis continued his residency in Nephrology at Nephrology Department, University Hospital of Heraklion. Following board certification in Nephrology in 2009, he worked as Consultant Nephrologist of Greek National Health Service. Since December 2023 he has been working as a consultant in Nephrology Department at the German Medical Institute in Limassol.
