Sample Tracking System and Software
The sample tracking system and software utilised in our Pathology Department serve as pillars of accuracy and reliability in sample management. Leveraging advanced technology, this system enables the complete recording and monitoring of each sample's journey, from collection through to final analysis and storage. The software offers automatic data logging and processing capabilities, providing physicians and staff with immediate access to each sample's history and processes with full precision and transparency. The durable coded labelling system eliminates potential errors and ensures the integrity of samples throughout the analysis. This not only enhances patient safety and trust but also enables our department to uphold the highest quality standards, delivering reliable diagnostic results and long-term data storage for future reference. Our tracking system is integral to our operations, supporting collaboration and communication among medical departments and facilitating efficient sample management.

Tissue Grossing Station
The tissue grossing station is a specially designed workspace for the initial preparation and examination of tissue samples, providing a spacious, chemically resistant work area. Equipped with a flushing system for fluid collection and filters to absorb formaldehyde fumes, it protects the user and creates a safe and hygienic work environment. Additionally, it supports environmental protection by preventing the release of toxic waste.

Laser Printer for Tissue Cassettes and Slide Labels
Our department is equipped with an innovative, fully automated laser printing system that enables precise labelling of tissue cassettes and slides. Controlled through laboratory software, this system ensures sample traceability and durable labelling throughout processing. This secures accurate sample identification, preventing errors in tissue management.

Automated Tissue Processor (Leica ASP300S)
Our fully enclosed automated tissue processor performs dehydration, clearing, and paraffin infiltration of tissues, ensuring high-quality processing that meets the department’s standards. It combines proven technology with modern design for high reliability, allowing safe processing of multiple samples simultaneously.

Tissue Embedding Station for Paraffin Blocks
The tissue embedding station allows for embedding tissues into paraffin blocks, preserving them for diagnostic and research purposes. The system includes a heated paraffin dispensing system and a cooling plate that help properly orient tissues, creating paraffin blocks suitable for accurate microtomy and long-term storage.

Cryostat
In cases requiring intraoperative consultation, known as frozen section biopsy, the cryostat enables rapid diagnostic decisions. It maintains tissues at cryogenic temperatures, allowing for quick microtomy, staining, and immediate microscopic examination within 15 minutes. Our modern cryostat offers speed, precision, and safety in sample handling.

Automated Slide Stainer with Automated Coverslipper
The automated slide stainer performs staining protocols, such as hematoxylin-eosin, allowing for detailed cellular and tissue observation. It provides high quality and reliability in staining, with multiple stations to enhance workflow efficiency. The automated coverslipper delivers slides of high optical quality for long-term storage.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Chromogenic In Situ Hybridization (CISH)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Chromogenic In Situ Hybridization (CISH) are invaluable tools in pathology for revealing cellular insights hidden within tissues. Through IHC, pathologists can detect, locate, and quantify antigens with precision, unlocking a deeper understanding of tumours and cancer cells. This process reveals cellular characteristics in detail, illuminating aspects otherwise invisible. CISH delves even deeper, examining genetic rearrangements and alterations in cancer cells. Implementing these techniques alongside our advanced system enhances diagnostic speed and accuracy, offering unprecedented productivity and result quality. With this equipment, our department thoroughly explores the enigmatic mechanisms of disease, uncovering every detail for treatment guidance and precise diagnosis.

Microscopes
Our pathologists use innovative microscopes with exceptional ergonomics and high optical clarity for both diagnosis and research. Microscopic examination reveals details invisible to the naked eye, while the integrated camera captures images for reference and archiving.
Slide Scanner
The modern slide scanner is an invaluable asset in our Pathology Department, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. With high-resolution slide digitization, pathologists can examine samples in meticulous detail and make comparisons remotely without handling physical samples. This digital technology not only improves analysis but also facilitates collaboration with laboratories and research centers worldwide, enabling real-time image sharing. It also supports archiving and secure storage of digital data, making it easier to retrieve historical samples for review or research purposes. The slide scanner enables telepathology, allowing for diagnoses by specialists from any location, and enhances the training quality of new physicians who can study digital images with exemplary precision. Overall, the scanner elevates our services, ensuring high levels of accuracy, consistency, and collaboration in delivering quality healthcare.
