Patient Story

Yiota K

My breast cancer journey was an arduous path, one where I had to balance the effects of chemotherapy while caring for my spirited three-year-old son. The challenges were immense, but so was my determination to overcome them.

In the nurturing embrace of the oncology unit where I received treatment, I found more than medical care; I discovered a family of support. My doctor, along with the dedicated medical staff, provided not just treatment but unwavering encouragement. They were pillars of strength.

Beyond the hospital, the love and care from my community in Cyprus fueled my spirit. Their support ignited a fire within me, reminding me that I was never alone in this battle.

Throughout this journey, I clung to my motto: "Someone else is fighting a harder battle than I am." I am profoundly grateful that it was me who experienced this illness, not my child. It's this gratitude and resilience that drive my mission for a world free from the suffering of cancer, especially for our little ones.

I emerged from this crucible stronger, and my vision is clear: a cancer-free world, where no one, especially children, has to endure this pain. My journey has taught me that the human spirit is unbreakable, and together, we can achieve the impossible.
